How to Avoid Getting Ticketed With Trapster
Trapster is an application software download free Android designed to help drivers avoid getting speeding tickets by alerting them to police traps. It uses a combination of the device's internal GPS capabilities, geocoding techniques and voice transcription to alert users in real-time to any reported traps.
Using the power of the world's largest driving community, Trapster is a high-tech version of flashing your headlights to warn you of road hazards. The app alerts users to speed traps, red light and enforcement cameras, accidents, traffic jams and other road hazards in the area that they are travelling.
The latest release of Trapster (version 4.0) includes new features that let users log road trips, find friends, and better avoid getting ticketed. It also adds some helpful road hazard notifications, including construction zones, brush fires, and police presence.
How to Use Trapster
To start, open the app and tap on the 'Add a Location' button located on the main screen. The app will then use your device's internal GPS and Wi-Fi location capabilities to locate the nearest police speed trap or red light camera.
Once the location has been pinpointed, the app will then show you a short Google Map with the address of the trap or camera. Once you are near the area, an audio warning will play.
You can also vote on the accuracy of the warning by tapping 'Confirm' or 'Reject'. You can even share your findings with other Trapster users.
